04/05/2009
Some of the finest minds in Open Source operating systems are coming to Brisbane for the first Australian Kernel Conference. The technical conference will cover the latest research, groundbreaking developments and useful insights into Open Source technologies.
From July 15 to 17, 2009, some of the finest minds in Open Source operating systems will gather and share practical information and insights. Keynote speakers include:
- Jeff Bonwick and Bill Moore, Sun Microsystems – Deduplication in ZFS
- Max Alt, Intel – Nehalem and OpenSolaris: more than the sum of their parts
“The conference will provide invaluable commentary on issues that developers and system administrators face in their daily work – from security and successful kernel ports to Sun’s revolutionary ZFS file system,” said Greg Wade, Marketing Director, Frontline.
“As Open Source systems like Solaris 10 gain real traction across the IT community, forums such as these will become an invaluable part of the event calendar, and Frontline is delighted to be involved.”
Delegates can register before Friday, 12 June to take advantage of the Early Bird rate and to go into the draw to win an iPod Touch 8G worth A$399. The full rate of the conference is A$300; the student rate is A$95. Group and package discounts are also available.
